Frederike Migom is a director and screenwriter. She completed her education at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York, before studying at the école Superieure d'Etudes Cinématographiques in Paris.
Her feature debut Binti (2019) had it's North-American premiere at the Sundance Film Festival 2020, screened at more than 60 festivals worldwide winning 14+ awards, and was released digitally in 50+ countries.
Prior to Binti, Frederike's short film Nkosi Coiffure (2015) screened at festivals among which the Tribeca Film Festival and the BFI London Film Festival, winning multiple awards.
In 2020, Frederike co-wrote and directed an episode for the Belgian mini-series Lockdown (2021), selected at Cannesseries 2021, as well as the short documentary ANGRY (BOOS) (2021) as part of the series ket&doc, for Flemish television.
In 2022-2023 Frederike directed 4 episodes of the series Alter Ego, co-directed with Mathieu Mortelmans and produced by A Team Productions for Streamz.
In 2024, Frederike participated in the LIM programme (Groupe Ouest), as well as shooting the documentary series May I Be (me), set in a psychiatric hospital for youth, produced by Emmy Oost at Cassette for Timescapes. She's also in early pre-production for her 2nd feature film Sorry (supported by the Flemish Audiovisual Fund), an adaptation of the successful novel by Bart Moeyaert, Everyone’s Sorry Nowadays, set to shoot in the summer of 2025.
